Lu Yan

The 22nd International Symposium of Adapted Physical Activity (ISAPA) was held at the University of Virginia in the US on June 14-18, 2019. It is an academic event sponsored by the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity once every two years for the scholars, practitioners and students in the field of international adapted physical education. Professor Lu Yan from China Sports Research Center for Disabled Persons of Beijing Sport University was elected as an academician of the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity at the Symposium.

The honorary title as an academician of the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity is designed to commend those scholars who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of research, teaching and international cooperation of adapted physical education. The International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity awarded academician certificates to ten researchers from all over the world this year. Professor Lu Yan has become the only scholar in mainland China up to now that has been elected as an academician of the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity.

Professor Lu Yan, with many years of work experience in the field of adapted physical education, has been committed to the introduction and promotion of adapted physical education. She has hosted and led the international adapted physical education teams for high-level, high-quality and high-standard cooperation, and achieved a number of research results, making outstanding contributions to the domestic promotion, international cooperation and global communication in the field of adapted physical education.

Professor Lu Yan gave a special report at the Symposium, which showed the experts and scholars from all over the world the unremitting efforts and great achievements made by China in the field of adapted physical education.
