On March 3, Ambassador Dario Mihelin and Counsellor Bisera Fabrio of the Republic of Croatia visited BSU.
On behalf of Beijing Sport University, Cao Weidong welcomed the ambassador and his delegation to the university at a special time of the COVID-19.
The ambassador expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of the university and reviewed the exchange of teachers and students and youth training programs of BSU in Croatia in 2020. He expressed his expectation that China and Croatia will continue to deepen sports and humanities exchanges under the framework of the China-CEE "17+1" cooperation, and hoped that BBSU will build on its cooperation with the University of Zagreb. He hope that under the leadership of the State General Administration of Sports, and through pragmatic cooperation, we can make sports exchanges into a highlight of China-Central and Eastern Europe cooperation. In addition, the ambassador recommended a set of inspirational sports books for young people and hoped to introduce the publication of the Chinese version of the books in China through the BSU.
Cao Weidong expressed his gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in China and the University of Zagreb for their strong support in the foreign exchange and overseas youth training programmes of BSU's teachers and students. He said he looked forward to the resumption of face-to-face exchanges and cooperation as soon as the epidemic was over; the university would set up a working group to actively promote China-Central and Eastern Europe cooperation in sports and education under the "17+1" framework; in the future, the University would also actively assist in the introduction of books and cooperation in scientific research.
