Call for Papers for Pinggu 2020 World Leisure Congress Beijing China

I. Congress background

The World Leisure Organization, as an advisory body of the United Nations International Non-Governmental Organization, has been in existence for more than 50 years. Since 1988, the World Leisure Congress has been held every two years around the world, and has become the highest academic conference in the world of leisure. The 16th World Leisure Congress will be officially held in mid-to-late October 2020. It will be hosted by the Beijing Municipal Government and co-sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Tourism Development Committee and the Pinggu District Government of Beijing. The theme of this congress is "Leisure improves the quality of life", and academic forums will be held around 14 sub-topics. The School of Leisure Sports and Tourism of Beijing Sport University will undertake the specific organizational work of "Leisure and Sports (focus on the Winter Olympics)" sub-forum. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

II. Congress Theme

This congress mainly focuses on but not limited to the following topics:

1. Leisure and agriculture

2. Leisure diversity, accessibility and inclusiveness

3. Leisure education and leisure culture (focus on Chinese traditional culture)

4. Leisure, tourism and hospitality

5. Leisure management based on social, physical and mental health, environment and economic development

6. Leisure and sports (focus on the Winter Olympics)

7. Leisure city and urbanization

8. Leisure and happiness

9. Entertainment and leisure

10. Youth leisure

11. Leisure and aging

12. Leisure and innovation

13. Leisure and gender

14. Community and economic development

Among them, the leisure and sports sub-forum will mainly focus on such topics as "sports leisure and health", "camp and outdoor adventure education" and "Winter Olympics and urban sports and leisure culture".

III. Submission requirements

Develop specific topics around the above topic selection range. The submitted papers must be unpublished original papers. Articles must be written in English and should be written using the following elements in the following order: title page; abstract; keywords; main text introduction, methods, results, discussion, references, appendices (as appropriate), titled table (on a separate page), numbers, and graphic titles (as a list). The full text should not exceed 9000 words, including abstracts, references and footnotes. It should also contain an unstructured summary of 150 words and 3-5 keywords.

The full text should be double-spaced, the margins should be one inch (1 inch = 2.54 cm), and all pages should be numbered consecutively. The text should use the Time New Roman font with the size of 12. The text should be left aligned. Please do not use full alignment (the text is evenly distributed on the page). Please use APA format for references. The author and date in the text citation must be placed after the sentence supported by the citation. The name of the author, the year of publication and the page number must be included. For example, (Christopher & Loren, 2016, p. 12)…. /…. (Christopher & Loren, 2016, pp. 12-15). The specific citation format is as follows:

1. Books / textbooks: author. (Year of publication). Title. City, state: publisher.

2. Journal articles / magazines / news: author. (Year of publication). Article title with the acronym in capital letters. Journal name, volume (issue number), page range.

3. Thesis: author. (Year of publication). Professional title (dissertation). University name.

4. Internet / website: author. (Year). Title. Retrieved from URL (month, day, year).

All authors of the article should indicate their full name and affiliation on the cover of the article. An author needs to be identified as the corresponding author, and his email address needs to be displayed in the article. The affiliation of the author refers to the affiliation of the research. If there is any change in the affiliation of the designated co-authors during the peer review, the change can be given as a footnote. Please note that after your paper is accepted, no changes can be made to the affiliation. For the detailed format requirements of the papers, please refer to Journal of Leisure Research.

The submitted papers of this congress will be included in the conference proceedings and published, and the excellent papers will have the opportunity to be recommended to the top international journals such as SCI and SSCI in the field of leisure.

IV. Submission channels

Please register EasyChair account first, then register as the author of WLC 2020, fill in personal relevant information, abstract and key words in turn, and submit PDF version of the full text of the paper. Note: Please mark which sub-forum to submit in front of the abstract of the paper.

Please submit the abstract or full text of the word version to the designated public email address before the corresponding deadline. At the same time, please mark in the email content which sub-forum you want to submit the paper: number + topic name.

Abstract submission deadline: December 31, 2019 (Beijing time)

Deadline for submission of full paper: May 31, 2020 (Beijing time)
