BSU Student Nominated for Chinese College Student of the Year 2012
Recently, Shelok Dolma, a third-year undergraduate student in the Sport Coaching College of BSU, has won the nomination in the election “Chinese College Student of the Year 2012” held jointly by People’s Daily Online and China Campus Magazine, supervised by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Ministry of Education, The Central Committee of Communist Youth League and People’s Daily.
In 2011, the 26-year-old Shelok Dolma won a gold medal at the World Wrestling Championship 2011 held in Turkey. This is the first gold medal won by a Tibetan in a world sport competition since the liberation of Tibet sixty years ago. Shelok Dolma reflects the spirit of “pursuing excellence”, which is typical of the BSU students. She also represents the good health in body and mind of the Chinese college students.
The election “Chinese College Student of the Year 2012” started in mid December 2012, which underwent three stages - recommendation, preliminary election, and final election，ended with 10 “Chinese College Student of the Year 2012” awards, 20 nomination awards, and 170 entry awards.
